Our Kitchen Makeover

Let’s take a little walk down memory lane to the before shots of our kitchen… (If you’re looking for sources for our kitchen, like paint colors, hardware, etc., scroll to the bottom of the post!)
BEFORE TOUR:
Our kitchen is barely recognizable in those photos! And I kind of can’t believe we actually bought this place with all that wallpaper and those floors! Behind all that crazy wallpaper, terrible linoleum floors, wood shutters, and pretty much everything else in that room, I saw potential. It was a wide galley kitchen with a great layout and lots of natural light – when

Your kitchen just looks SO beautiful! I love all the choices you made and the little details like how you made the island and wall weave. Love it!
That looks fantastic!!! No would love instructions on how to make the wooden bench .
I love, love, love your kitchen! Can you tell me the stain color you used on the island? You did a great job on it!~
Hi Kitty – great job with your kitchen reno! We might be doing one ourselves soon and I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of quartz countertop you went with. Is it silestone? It’s hard to find a good “knock-off” marble pattern! Thanks!
That’s a good question! I don’t know what kind of quartz we got. I know the style of the quartz was called Venato, but I’m not sure of the kind…
Could you post the supplies and measurements and a diy video re the island you made? Thanks!
Is the knob and center pulls significantly different in color? I can’t tell from the photos.
The match really well, especially since they were different brands!
Love the makeover! Can you explain how you prepped the cabinets and what type of Benjamin Moore paint (acrylic? semigloss ? etc) Did you put any clear top? What type of brush or spray paint?
Hey I hope you see this message :( I used French beret on my kitchen but it kind of looks purple during the day. Is this normal?
Ours does look a bit lighter during the day in direct sun, but ours doesn’t have a purple tint.
Love your kitchen! Did you paint the cabinets yourself or hire out for that portion of the project?
We have a good friend who’s a professional painter who painted them for us as wedding present! Best present ever!
