Living Room & Dining Room Tour

It’s finally here! A tour of living room and dining room! Our home has a traditional 1950s rambler layout – small dining space between the living room and galley kitchen. This room also shares space with our front entry, which is partitioned off with a very mid century modern half wall and geometric shelves.

We bought the house about 2 years ago (man, how time flies!) and we’ve been slowly renovating it from the top down. I’m the type of person who’s always ‘decorating’ my home. I can’t help myself, I just love the process! At the moment, I’m very happy with the look and feel of our living room. There are small things here and there that I’d still like to do (reclaimed wood mantel, recessed lighting, do something about all the cords under the credenza), but for now it’s great!

  2. I would love to hang large photos above my couch and I stumbled across your blog and I absolutely love what you did! Would you mind sharing what size and where you got your frames? Also, help a sister out and share your photos :) I can’t believe you took those! So beautiful!

  3. Hi Kitty,

I noticed you have a cat. How do you prevent the cat fr jumping on your westelm sofa? I have a chair and when they jump they use their claws so I have holes in them. They don’t scratch anything they just climb. Sighs. Hope all is well esp being a new momm

    1. Our cat June actually doesn’t have her front claws. She’s actually not a cat who goes crazy on the furniture so I find the couch pretty durable.

    1. Our ceiling is a different color. I think its just “bright white” ceiling paint from Menards. I wish I would’ve painted our ceilings in BM color like Chantilly Lace like we did our basement.
