Turn A Curling Iron Into A Wand
My favorite way to curl my hair is by wrapping it around a 1″ curling iron, but sometimes I’ll see little kinks in my curls from the top clamp. I thought about buying a new curling wand, but decided I’d transform my current 1″ curling iron into a wand. It saved me about $50 (the cost of a new curling wand at the beauty store) and I knew this iron would end up buried away in my bathroom and probably never used again. All you need is a curling iron and a phillips screw driver…
Step 1 : Remove the two side screws that hold the top clamp in place.
Step 2 : Underneath the clamp you just removed there will be a spring held down by a screw and small metal plate. Loosen the screw that holds the metal plate down and spring until the you can easily pull the spring out from underneath it.
Step 3: Tight the screw and metal plate back down.
Step 4 : Store the clamp and spring away. Save the two screws and the the black metal stand to re-attach.
Step 5 : Screw in both screws on either side of the wand. Then clip the black metal stand back in place. If you don’t want to use the metal stand, just skip this step and store away all the parts together left over in step 4.
Have you had any problems with this sense taking the clamp off?
I prefer my Karmin curler.
Clever!
