Summer 2017 • Capsule Wardrobe
Welcome to my summer capsule wardrobe! I’m a little late with this video, but I figure better late then never, right?! This season I started my capsule process by putting together a pinterest board of inspiration photos, like a mood board. After I filled up the board I scrolled through it to find common themes to focus my summer capsule on.
Summer Capsule Wardrobe Themes:
- White or light colored tops
- Light wash denim
- Vertical stripe tops
- Hints of olive green and khaki
- Hints of blush
- Minimal pattern
- Woven details like rattan and straw
- Simple gold jewelry
- Casual sandals
I was able to pull a lot of pieces over from my spring capsule wardrobe and few pieces from my fall capsule. I did a good deal of thrifting for my summer wardrobe. I scored a cute olive green skirts with buttons up the front and cut it from a midi to a mini length. I also found some denim pants that I cut into denim shorts – one rolled hem version and one raw cutt off.
I did pick up a few new items like the rattan heels, vegan birkenstocks, woven bags, denim skirt and navy shorts. I found my shorts from last summer were fit more snug (not in a bad way). I was just looking for a different style this season – high waisted with a loose, relaxed fit.
38 Piece Capsule Wardrobe:
- 18 tops
- 4 dresses
- 11 bottoms
- 5 shoes
