Long Weekend Trip to San Diego

April 4, 2019Travel14

We just got home from a long weekend trip to San Diego, California. We stayed in an Airbnb just a few steps off of Mission Beach with a couple friend of ours. This was Harriet’s second trip were we flew to our destination. She did great. The flight to San Diego she how decided she didn’t need her second nap and was up the whole flight. The flight home was early and she slept for half of it and I watched 90% of A Star Is Born.

I asked you all on instagram for your San Diego suggestions and you guys sure delivered! There were so many things, places and food spots we wanted to visit, but ran out of time. I’m already excited to go back! When we were there we took it easy by the beach a few days, went to the farmer’s market on Saturday and visited La Jolla and Coronado Island. Seriously, I need to go back so I can eat at Cafe Gratitude. So many of you suggested that and we didn’t get to go this time.

I love this photo my friend Jen snapped. Traveling with a baby is wonderful at times watching them experience all the new sights and people. But often it can be overwhelming and exhausting. To me it’s totally worth the extra effort. I just thought it would be nice to include a “real life” photo since we often see only the curated cute photos online.

We visited Liberty Station (another recommendation from you all!). We stopped at Stone Brewery for a beer and Harriet loved watching all the koi fish in their pond out back.

Our last full day in San Diego, we went to Coronado Island to watch the sunset and eat some dinner.

The sunsets on Mission Beach were beautiful. There’s something about being near the ocean, barefoot in the sand watching the sunset that just makes me feel good. If we didn’t live in Minnesota, we’d definitely move close to the coast. Below is a little instagram video I made from our trip…

Traveling with a baby can be challenging at times, but the joy she gets seeing new places, experiencing new things and meeting new people makes all the work worth it every time! I think my favorite part of this trip was watching her play in the sand and literally screaming with excitement 😂🏖 #motherhoodsimplified #motherhoodunplugged #thehappynow #thatsdarling #beachbaby

Welcome

Minimalism to me is learning to identify the essentials and eliminate the rest. This is my adventure toward a life full of life, not stuff.
