Our 3-Season Porch Reveal

I’m so excited to finally share our complete three-season porch! The porch was one the first projects we started tackling when we bought our house back in 2015, so this makeover is a long time coming. Each summer we tackled a part of the room. First, we got rid of the ugly drop ceiling and added bead-board to the lofted ceilings. There we existing 2×8’s which we wrapped in rough cut cedar to make them look like rustic beads. We added a ceiling fan to keep the air moving in the porch during our hot Minnesota summers!

The following summer we decided to paint the dark reddish tongue and grove boards a soft white (“Snowbound” by Sherwin Williams). It was a real labor of love since it took us 4 COATS of paint to cover up that deep wood stain! This summer we finally tackled replacing the carpet floors with tile. It makes the space feel so much more fresh and open, plus it’s much more practical in this high traffic space.

I love how bright and airy your entire house is. The porch remodel is beautiful. If my fiancee and I ever get around to our porch after our huge basement remodel and then kitchen I definitely will be using your porch for inspiration.

What would you call those windows that open and close like large mini blinds? They are perfect for our porch!! Love this!

I absolutely love what you have done with your three season room!! It’s given me inspiration for a very similar motif!! So thank you for sharing!! Now I must ask, what color did you guys use for the trim and doors? Is it a dark navy or charcoal?? Thank you 😊
