macaroons

vintage sweater, skirt, shoes, bag // abercrombie jacket // urban outfitters socks

Sunday was a rainy day perfect for baking some sweet treats like macaroons. I have never actually had a macaroon in my life, but they seem to be popping up all over the blogging world, so i wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
It seems three really is the charm, because after two failed batches my housemate and i finally got the mixture the correct consistency and perfect shade of pink. Turns out baking macaroons is more like a chemistry science project that a leisurely sunday baking activity. Now, i know what all the fuss is about, they are really yummy!
This is the recipe that i used, but i found this recipe that explains things is much better detail and was much easier to follow if you get rained-in in the near future. A little tip…to make the egg whites foamy don’t add the salt until you add the sugar. It will save you about a dozen eggs, unlike me!
The stock photos were delayed slightly, after an exciting email i received this weekend, but i will finish up the photos tonight & tomorrow to upload them to our facebook page this week! Sorry for the slight delay, but this month’s stock i definitely worth the wait!

I’ve never had a macaroon but you’re doing a great job of selling me on the idea of them. Also… LOVE your outfit!
