6 Things I Tried & Loved in October

by Humankind

by Humankind deodorant

$15

I think I’ve finally found the perfect natural deodorant with sustainable packaging that comes in a stick form. I’ve used a lot of different natural deodorants in the past and this one checks all the boxes for me: nice smell, works and sustainable packaging.

HiBAR

HiBar solid volumize shampoo

$14

I stumbled on this solid shampoo at my local coop and was intrigued by the packaging, so I gave it a try. I’ve tried a few solid shampoos in the past and they all kind of sucked. Left my hair feeling greasier than before I showered. I’ve been using this now for a couple of weeks and seriously the best solid shampoo ever! Once I run out of current conditioner I’m going to add their conditioner to my routine. I’m currently using their volumize shampoo, but want to try the moisturizing on next!

Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love by Sue Johnson

$13

I was deep in insta stories when someone  recommended this book saying it was their #1 relationship book they’d recommend to anyone. I bought and downloaded it my kindle and drove it. It’s real good. Nothing like other relationship self-help style books I’ve read in the past in all the best ways possible. I’d try to explain it here, but just trust me and get the book.

Ripple dairy-free milk

$4

This milk has been available for while now, but the brand recently added B12 to it. As a vegan, it’s super important that I make sure I get B12 into my diet. Usually it’s by a supplement or nutritional yeast, but now I incorporate this into my daily routine. Also, their half and half is the best non-dairy dup for the real thing in my humble opinion.

Camel beret

$13

I’m digging berets at the moment. They are fun, quirky addition to my fall uniform of denim, sweater and coat. I wore it everywhere on my recent weekend girls trip to Chicago to see Hamilton musical (which was literally the best thing I’ve ever seen and I’m already planning to see it again when it comes back to Minneapolis).

Floorpops Peel & Stick Floor Tiles in Stellar

$2 a tile

We’re working on a little refresh of our basement laundry room. I wanted to make the space feel less like a dark, sad basement storage room and more of pretty laundry room. The biggest change will the floors. Can you believe these are peel and stick tiles?! They’re very affordable, easy to put in and has made huge difference in transforming the space. Can’t wait to share more of our budget makeover soon!

Hi Kitty! Thank you for sharing these! I’m intrigued by the solid shampoo and conditioner but hesitant because I’m wondering how to store in the shower. Do you keep in a closed container?

Great tips! The game changer book on relationships for us was Mating in Captivity, it’s so so awesome. I’m buying for everyone married or not!
